This 

resort is located 30 minutes south of South Lake Tahoe. You can rent cross-country skis at the at the ski center 

which is located at the dog-friendly Sorensen&#039;s Resort. After renting the skis, you can either take your dog on 

some advanced uphill trails next to the rental center or drive about a mile down the road for some easier trails. 

The trails are located in the Toiyabe National Forest and are not groomed. The Burnside Lake Trail is a flat, 14 

mile cross-country loop trail around the lake. A smaller loop, about 4-5 miles, can be found at the Sawmill 

Trail. The Taylor Creek/Fallen Leaf area 

provides the newcomer to cross-country skiing an opportunity to enjoy winter adventure. Developed for the 

beginner, this well marked series of trails allows skiers to explore an area of forest with the knowledge that 

other people are near and there is no avalanche danger. The terrain is mostly flat and provides an excellent day 

tour for the whole family. The developed trails cover a large area and although heavily used, are not congested.

This ski resort offers two groomed dog trails for 

people who want to cross country ski with their pooch. While dogs must be leashed at the trailhead and the 

parking lot, they can be off-leash under direct voice control on the trails. They welcome dogs on about 5 miles 

of groomed trails, including beginner and intermediate terrain. The dog-friendly trails are the BlueTrail and the 

Special Green Trail. They do not allow skijoring on either trail. The dog trails are open on Monday through 

Friday from 8:30am to 5pm, and on weekends and holidays from 3pm to 5pm. Dog passes are $3.00 per dog per day

This lodge is the base camp for the North Valley Trail System. There are several cross country ski trails and snowshoe trails that allow dogs. This rental center allows dogs on one of their trails. The Dog Loop is about 5km. When they have enough snow, it is used as a cross-country ski trail. When there is not enough snow it is used as a snowshoe trail. The cross-country ski rental center at this resort is only open on the weekends. They have over 25km of groomed cross-country and snowshoeing trails. Dogs are allowed on the lower cross-country ski trails which are located south of route 86. They just ask that dogs walk alongside but not directly on the groomed trails. It is a short walk from the Golf Course Shop where you rent the skis to the trailhead. This trail system connects up to the 50km Jackrabbit Trail. Dogs need to be leashed at the resort and on the trails. As one of North Americas&#039; largest ski resorts, skiers, snowboarders, and Nordic skiers will find great conditions with plenty of snow, a large terrain, short lift lines, great value, 4 different terrain parks, and an Olympic size superpipe. Mt. Bachelor is nearly 3700 acres of varied terrain atop the high desert of the Central Cascades in the Deschutes National Forest. They also offer tubing, snowshoeing, dog sledding, and they host the North American Pond Skimming Championships each year. They are open from mid-November to Memorial Day for the ski season, and from July 1st through Labor Day for summer sightseeing. Dogs of all sizes are allowed throughout the year. In the summer, your pet can even ride the chair lift, and is allowed throughout the park. In the winter, there are some ski trails and trails that dogs can be on.
