Big Bear Lake Beaches
Hwy 38
Big Bear Lake, California
There are various beaches along the lake on Hwy 38. You can get to any of
the beaches via the Alpine Pedal Path. To get there, (going away from the village), take the Stanfield Cutoff to
the other side of the lake and turn left onto Hwy 38. In about 1/4 - 1/2 mile, parking will be on the left.

This beach is within walking distance (about 7 blocks)
from the quaint village of Carmel. There are a couple of hotels and several restaurants that are within walking
distance of the beach. Your pooch is allowed to run off-leash as long as he or she is under voice control. To get
there, take the Ocean Avenue exit from Hwy 1 and follow Ocean Ave to the end.

This beach is just south of Carmel. It
has approximately a mile of beach and leashes are required. It's located on Carmelo Street.
Garrapata State

There are two miles of beach front at this
park. Dogs are allowed but must be on a 6 foot or less leash and people need to clean up after their pets. The
beach is on Highway 1, about 6 1/2 miles south of Rio Road in Carmel. It is about 18 miles north of Big Sur.

This small but lovely beach is a perfect place for
your pup to take a dip in Lake Tahoe. Dogs must be on leash. To get there from the intersection of Hwys 89 and
50, take Hwy 89 north approx 2-3 miles to the entrance on your right. Follow the road and towards the end, bear
left to the parking lot. Then follow the path to the beach.
