This
resort is located 30 minutes south of South Lake Tahoe. You can rent cross-country skis at the at the ski center
which is located at the dog-friendly Sorensen's Resort. After renting the skis, you can either take your dog on
some advanced uphill trails next to the rental center or drive about a mile down the road for some easier trails.
The trails are located in the Toiyabe National Forest and are not groomed. The Burnside Lake Trail is a flat, 14
mile cross-country loop trail around the lake. A smaller loop, about 4-5 miles, can be found at the Sawmill
Trail. The rental center will be able to provide directions and/or maps.

The Taylor Creek/Fallen Leaf area
provides the newcomer to cross-country skiing an opportunity to enjoy winter adventure. Developed for the
beginner, this well marked series of trails allows skiers to explore an area of forest with the knowledge that
other people are near and there is no avalanche danger. The terrain is mostly flat and provides an excellent day
tour for the whole family. The developed trails cover a large area and although heavily used, are not congested.
The loop trail traverses through open meadows and aspen groves.

This ski resort offers two groomed dog trails for
people who want to cross country ski with their pooch. While dogs must be leashed at the trailhead and the
parking lot, they can be off-leash under direct voice control on the trails. They welcome dogs on about 5 miles
of groomed trails, including beginner and intermediate terrain. The dog-friendly trails are the BlueTrail and the
Special Green Trail. They do not allow skijoring on either trail. The dog trails are open on Monday through
Friday from 8:30am to 5pm, and on weekends and holidays from 3pm to 5pm. Dog passes are $3.00 per dog per day
with a two dog per party maximum. Complimentary poop bags are provided.

This rental center allows dogs on the trail that goes around the golf course. It is 1.5 miles long and is usually groomed once a day in the morning. Dogs need to be on leash or under direct voice control. Please clean up after your pet.

This lodge is the base camp for the North Valley Trail System. There are several cross country ski trails and snowshoe trails that allow dogs. Dogs can be off-leash on the trails but need to be under direct voice control. There is a $2 per day dog trail fee. Dogs are not allowed in the lodge. They are located about 3.5 hours from Boise.

This dog-friendly rental center allows dogs on most of their cross-country ski trails. They have 40 to 65 kilometers of groomed trails. Dogs can be off-leash but need to be under voice control. You need to carry a leash with you just in case. The center rents skis, snowshoes and sleds.

This rental center allows dogs on one of their trails. The Dog Loop is about 5km. When they have enough snow, it is used as a cross-country ski trail. When there is not enough snow it is used as a snowshoe trail. Dogs need to be leashed when the trail is open for cross-country skiing but can be off-leash under voice control when the trail is being used for snowshoeing. The center rents both skis and snowshoes.

This year round recreational mountain offers a variety of activities and numerous trails of varying difficulty. In winter, dogs are allowed on the trails in Whitaker Woods in the Village of North Conway only. Dogs must be under owners control/care, leashed, and cleaned up after at all times.
